COVID Update: May 17, 2021

In light of Governor Baker's announcement today regarding the lifting of mask requirements in certain settings in Massachusetts, we wanted to take an opportunity to address any questions or concerns that our patients might have.
The State, as well as the CDC, both require that masks, for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, continue to be worn in health care settings. As we are health care providers, and have a group treatment room, we will continue to require masks at ACA for all patients, regardless of vaccination status, beyond May 29. We do not yet have a date as to when this policy will change. We encourage all of our patients age 12 and over to get vaccinated against COVID19, for their own safety, as well as the safety of the larger community. For our patients who are vaccinated, we are happy to learn of your status, but we will not require any written documentation. In the interest of fairness, our rules and requirements will apply to all, regardless of vaccination status, to protect our most vulnerable patients. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued patronage and cooperation. We would not still be here without you. Thank you.

Clinic COVID Guidelines

We reopened June 15!

Here are the main points for patients to know before booking their appointment.

Please read our "COVID 19 Safety Protocol" above for complete information.

  • Masks are required on all persons who enter the clinic, for the duration of their visit. No exceptions.
  • DO NOT come to the clinic if you are ill. Please cancel your appointment if you get sick.
  • We are only seeing up to three patients per hour.
  • Because of our reduced capacity, our sliding scale is now $30-$40. We are no longer selling 5-treatment cards.
  • If you arrive early for your appointment, please wait in your car.
  • All patients will be screened at every visit. You will be required to be able to truthfully answer "no" to all of these questions:

In the last 72 hours (3 days):
1. Have you OR anyone in your household tested positive for COVID 19, or awaits testing results for COVID 19?
2. Have you, or has anyone in your household come into contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID 19, or is awaiting results of a COVID 19 test?
3. Have you OR anyone in your household had any of the following symptoms:
* Fever (100.0 degrees fahrenheit or higher)
*Chills
*New cough or shortness of breath
*Fatigue
*Body aches
*Red itchy rash on feet/toes or skin sores
*Loss of taste or smell
*Headache
*Sore throat
4. Have you traveled outside Massachusetts in the last 2 weeks?

  • We are no longer using any blankets. We will be covering them with a vinyl cover that can be sanitized between patients, and paper sheets. If you would like to bring a sheet from home to cover your chair, or a blanket for your legs, you may.

Distance Reiki sessions available!

Our own Sarah Fuller is offering distance reiki sessions to all patients while the clinic is temporarily closed! The cost will be our usual sliding scale, $20-$40. Sessions must be prepaid via PayPal.

Contact Sarah at poca.aca@gmail.com to schedule a session or to get more information.

Here are some details from Sarah:
As many of you know, I practice Reiki (a form of energy healing) along with acupuncture. You may or may not know that Reiki can also be practiced/received remotely.  This means that you can receive treatment while you are home and cozy in your bed!
Given our present circumstances, it's imperative that we get creative with our self-care and health care. There are a lot of emotions and uncertainty in the air. Fear and stress take a huge toll on our health, and I am so grateful to be able to have a skill set that I can share from a distance.
Even though a distance Reiki treatment is different from a regular, in person acupuncture treatment, it is not any less effective. In my experience, distance healing is especially helpful in processing emotions and bringing a deep sense of peace and balance--something we all need right now.
Distance healing might be good for you if you are:
-feeling fear, anxiety, confusion, anger, hopelessness, or any other emotions (or any combination of them!)
-noticing other physical manifestations of stress such as digestive issues, insomnia, headaches, muscle tension, ruminating thoughts
-getting cabin fever from being at home all day with your spouse and/or kids, or being at home alone
-looking for deep personal growth, to gain a new perspective on life and how we can live in better alignment with our authentic selves to create a brighter future
What does a distance treatment look like?
At the time of our scheduled appointment, we will have a short phone call to check in on how you are feeling and what you want to get out of the session.
Then, I'll ask you to find a comfortable spot at home, like your bed or couch, where you can lay down (uninterrupted) for a period of time. The actual treatment will last about 20 minutes, but you may fall asleep or drift into a deep space similar to an acupuncture treatment. Rest for as long as you need to, as the Reiki effects will last beyond the 20 minutes that Reiki is actually being transmitted.
After our session, I will send a short e-mail to follow up that you can read and respond to in your own time.
